Melrose, MA – May 17, 2017 – Melrose Bank is sponsoring a Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) approved first-time homebuyer course for Community Teamwork, Inc. The two-session certification course will take place on Saturday, June 2nd and Saturday, June 9th from 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church at 645 Main Street in Melrose. Upon completing the course, participants will receive the certificate required for loan programs offered by MassHousing and other agencies.
Topics to be covered include: household budgeting, getting a mortgage, working with a realtor, selecting a home inspector, the role of the attorney, MassHousing programs and other financing options.
“Many financial advantages are available to first-time homebuyers that can help make the dream of homeownership attainable. After completing this course, attendees will be certified for a range of unique programs that are available in Massachusetts,” said Jeffrey Jones, Melrose Bank President and CEO.
