Make the switch to Melrose Bank in three simple steps:
1) Select a Bank Account
Choose the Melrose Bank account that's best for you or your business. Explore our checking and savings account options, and give us a call or stop by our office if you need help making the decision.
2) Stop using your old account
Once you have selected your new account, transfer your direct deposits and automatic payments to your new Melrose Bank account. Complete and mail the forms to the appropriate companies and/or individuals. For verification purposes, enclose a voided check or deposit slip from your new Melrose Bank account with the form.
For Social Security or other government payments, you will have to use the form available at www.ssa.gov/deposit/howtosign.htm, or call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778).
3) Close your old account
Once all of your direct deposits have been transferred to your new Melrose Bank account and any outstanding checks have cleared, you’re ready to close your old account. Simply complete and mail the Request to Close Deposit Account Form to your former bank, and destroy any unused checks, deposit slips, and ATM/Debit Cards.
